Shirley Jackson's Intertextualities

American Literature Association Annual Conference
​Chicago, Illinois May 26-29, 2022 

​This panel will consider intertextual elements of Shirley Jackson’s fiction as well as her continued influence on literature, film, and other mediums. Paper topics might include (but are not limited to) examinations of specific allusions in Jackson’s fiction, readings that put other texts in conversation with her work, discussions of adaptations of her work, and thoughts on the significance of authors she references in her recently collected letters. Please send 250-word proposals for individual papers and a brief CV to Emily Banks by January 20th, 2022.
